Is Donald Trump Aligning Himself with Jewish Voters?

Image
The Trump Administration has made it abundantly clear they are siding and will continue to side with Israel and Netanyahu's regime if he is elected president. While Harris has agreed on a ceasefire, she has been teetering between Jewish voters and Arab voters who want her to have a clear stance. Trump has stated if Harris is elected, Israel will cease to exist within two or three years, making a statement of fear for many Zionist Jews who see Israel as a home.  Trump attended the Israeli-American Council summit in Washington, D.C last week and focused his time on commemorating the October 7th attacks, sparking the latest conflict between Hamas and Israel. According to an NPR article, Trump says he is their big protector, and that there is not on on the [Democratic] side.  Trump later accused Harris of pandering to Hamas supporters and said in the same NPR article that "Jewish people have no excuse" for supporting his Democratic rival. Harris's pandering to Hamas woul...

Is Donald Trump Pandering with Marijuana Legalization?

Image
The Harris campaign has recently called out Donald Trump for pandering to Florida voters on Amendment 3, the marijuana legalization ballot. According to The Hill, Trump stated on Truth Social that he believes it's time to end needless arrests for small amounts of marijuana use, and that "we must also implement smart regulations while providing access for adults, to safe, tested product." These comments come as surprising to many since Trump's active position on marijuana does not align with his previous record. Joseph Costello, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, says that regardless of the pandering, Trump cannot gloss over extensive evidence of him dragging marijuana reform backwards.  During his presidency, Trump double downed on nonviolent marijuana offenses, in some cases undermining state legalization laws, opposed safe banking legislation, and even trying to remove protections for medical marijuana usage. Given his harsh stance on marijuana during his pres...

Harris Pandering During the Presidential Debate

Image
Following last night's 2024 Presidential Debate, it was clear Trump and Harris rarely saw eye to eye on any policy, but something they did agree on was Israel's right to defend itself. Trump was strong on his belief that Israel would cease to exist if Harris became the president, and Trump promises he would promptly put an end to the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, Harris panders towards supporters of both Israel and Palestine during the debate. Harris was careful to give both sides, Arab-Americans and Jewish voters, what they wanted to hear during the debate. Harris double downed on her support for Israel and its right to defend itself, but adds that it comes to a certain standard or extent to how they defend itself. Harris defines that their defense is in particular to its relation with Iran and threats Iran poses towards Israel.  Harris later mentions innocent Palestinian lives, around 40 million as stated by fact checkers, who have been slaughtered by Israel. While she defen...

Is Harris Pandering to Black Audiences? Trump Certainly Thinks So.

Image
Following the news of Biden dropping out, Donald Trump has been trying to maintain relevancy in comparison to Harris's campaign which is sweeping social media with trends about her and fan edits being made to push her support further. Trump broke through the news cycle a few weeks ago making claims that Harris is trying to pander towards black voters.  At the National Association of Black Journalists, Trump made the claim that Harris is only black when she wants to be. This kind of false claim can be incredibly demeaning and disrespectful. While Harris could be considered racially ambiguous, it's odd to suggest what her own identity is, and Trump making claims like this is not going to help align black voters with him but instead against him.  According to an article by the San Francisco Chronicle, Trump stated how he had no clue she was black until a few years ago when she "happened to be Black and now she wants to be known as Black." It is unfortunate Trump is goin...

Trump Gets Cozy with Billionaires

Image
Donald Trump is not new to running a presidential campaign, as this will be his third time running, but he has seemingly forgot a version of himself that was present and integral to winning the media over and improving his image during his 2016 campaign. Trump was outspoken and demanding on corporations like Amazon, Wall Street, and Big Pharma influencing federal tax policy and that they would not get away with it. He was idealized as a populist outsider, and his victory was historic for a Republicans.  Back in 2016, Trump was promising to raise taxes for the wealthy, which was a factor in gaining middle and lower class voters on his side. He failed to deliver on his promises on economic populism, and he decided to fill his cabinet with former CEOs while passing legislation that would be considered pro-business.  During the current 2024 campaign, Trump has stopped challenging big corporations and started to cozy up with more CEOs in the process, alienating his middle cla...
