Harris's Surprise SNL Appearance!
In the days leading up to the election, both Trump and Harris have been diligently doing as many appearances and campaign events as possible, yet Harris had a surprise up her sleeve nobody saw coming. Harris decided to go on this week's SNL episode during the cold open with Maya Rudolph playing Harris, which has been a staple in SNL shows the last few weeks.
While there has not been much controversy about this appearance, I think this was an intentional and strategic move on Harris's part to align move voters with her and her campaign. SNL is watched by a wide range of audiences, many of whom are just looking for light-hearted fun and good musical guests. Harris taking a part in the show was a good plan to align a few more voters to her. SNL was a good method for her to show her personality, rather than direct political policies and campaign promises.
Considering the election is tomorrow, and voters across the country have already voted or are planning to head to the polls tomorrow, it really is now or never for Harris to make one last appearance to pander to voters. Harris has a distinctive laugh, is relatively in touch with younger audiences, and knows when to take herself seriously and when not to.
I do think, like most every topic discussed thus far, this is considered pandering because Harris is trying to get as many voters on her side rather than Trump's side. Harris's strategic pandering throughout the short campaign she's had has been to target young audiences and make herself appear as the in touch and modern candidate in comparison to Trump and Biden.

Great post! Well we know now that this ended up not being too effective of a strategy for Harris... Something I have always thought is that last minute pushes like this are just pointless. In my opinion most people had a pretty good idea of who they were going to vote for as soon as the nominations where in. While there probably is a good amount of people who where on the fence about who they though was the lesser of the two evils I highly doubt a last minute SNL appearance would be the selling point for a candidate. I really liked your take on this post however and I think you summed it up well!
